Pilates (pi-lah-teez)
Pilates
incorporates gentle, yet challenging, exercises that focus on
increasing the strength, stability and tone of the abdominal and
back muscles, or core. Joseph Pilates developed this unique
method of strengthening the core in the 1940s and it has been
refined for the group exercise setting.
